The following article, Has Jeff Bezos Joined Elon Musk on the Trump Train, was first published on The Black Sphere.
By now the die is cast. Trump will get his rightful second term. All around the Left one can see hints of this inevitability.
For example, CEO of Apple, Tim Cook called Donald Trump to ask for help with Irish penalties. A cool $16 billion Trump could save Apple, if Trump intervenes. Cook didn’t call Biden. And he damn sure didn’t call Kamala Harris.
But there are many more clues, like…well, the polls.
The narrative is that this is a close race, although it is not. Further, Democrats are forced to admit that Harris is trending backwards as Trump surges.
Still, common sense and other obvious hints notwithstanding, what’s up with the Washington Post?
They have backed a presidential [Democrats all] candidate for decades. And now the man who actually purchased the rag because of his hatred of Trump decided not to allow WaPo to endorse Harris?
If there were any time to pick a team, the time is now, Jeffy.
And let’s be clear. It wasn’t the WaPo editorial board who made the decision to stop endorsing, it was El Jefe himself:
The Washington Post said Friday that it will not endorse a candidate in the presidential election this year — or ever again — breaking decades of tradition and sparking immediate criticism of the decision.
But the newspaper also published an article by two staff reporters revealing that editorial page staffers had drafted an endorsement of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris over GOP nominee Donald Trump in the election.
“The decision not to publish was made by The Post’s owner — Amazon–founder Jeff Bezos,” the article said, citing two sources briefed on the events.
Trump, while president, had been critical of the billionaire Bezos and the Post, which he purchased in 2013.
The newspaper in 2016 and again in 2020 endorsed Trump’s election opponents, Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden, in editorials that condemned the Republican in blunt terms.
In a 2019 lawsuit, Amazon claimed it had lost a $10 billion cloud computing contract with the Pentagon to Microsoft because Trump had used “improper pressure … to harm his perceived political enemy” Bezos.
Clearly the Post wasn’t going to endorse Trump, given the history between the organization, its owner, and former President Trump. However, not to endorse Harris looks as subtle as a talking through a bullhorn at a wake.
As I alluded earlier, the Post since 1976 had regularly endorsed candidates for president, except for the 1988 race. All those endorsements had been for Democrats. Until now. Suddenly, it’s 1988 all over again.
If you’re wondering if this is a big deal, I get it. Frankly, it doesn’t help an already flailing Harris campaign. But what makes it a bigger deal is how Democrats are reacting.
Check out one of the perennial has-beens who chimed in on the news.
Woodward and Bernstein, the perennial has-beens who trot out periodically to remind America of their past exploit issued a statement to CNN’s Brian Stelter Friday:
We respect the traditional independence of the editorial page, but this decision 11 days out from the 2024 presidential election ignores the Washington Post’s own overwhelming reportorial evidence on the threat Donald Trump poses to democracy. Under Jeff Bezos’s ownership, the Washington Post’s news operation has used its abundant resources to rigorously investigate the danger and damage a second Trump presidency could cause to the future of American democracy and that makes this decision even more surprising and disappointing, especially this late in the electoral process.
Consider that these two hacks have done nothing since Watergate, a “scandal” that is nothing in comparison to the acts of treason overlooked by the media today. Surely these two could find something to report on about the Biden crime family? Or perhaps the overthrow of the Trump government in 2020? Or perhaps the coverup by Democrats of the 2020 coup using the J6-orchestrated coverup?
Then there is COVID and the vax. Or perhaps the FBI’s collusion with media and social media to silence conservatives. Finally, what about digging into how the Democrats took out Biden and installed Harris?
Is it any wonder Bezos doesn’t want his paper supporting Harris. After all, she wasn’t elected; she was anointed.
Take Trump out at all cost has failed. And the next richest guy in America sees Harris’ campaign for what it is: a sham. So don’t shoot the messenger, Leftists. No serious, stop planning to shoot the messenger.
Trust and believe, Woodstein and Bernward or whatever they call themselves aren’t the only Lefties with their panties in a wad. There are many others. But Bezos doesn’t care. Because he doesn’t have to care. And he signaled boldly his wants for the 2024 election. MAGA, Baby!
