The following article, Biden Pardoning Trump? The Theater of Absurdity, was first published on The Black Sphere.
The suggestion that Joe Biden should pardon Donald Trump is like trying to teach a fish to climb a tree. It’s nonsensical, wildly misplaced, and borderline hilarious. Yet here we are, with Chris Cuomo and Stephen A. Smith—media’s version of the Odd Couple—earnestly floating the idea like it’s some grand act of statesmanship.
Chris Cuomo and Stephen A. Smith urge Biden to pardon Trump.
Cuomo: “I know people gonna get upset about this, but just think about it before you crazy on me. Not you — everybody else. If I were he, I would pardon Trump … I would say this has got to stop.”
Smith: “You know… pic.twitter.com/VLkGT1lYcU

First, let’s dissect the absurdity of their suggestion. And we can begin by asking, “Biden pardon Trump for what?” Winning the 2016 election? Exposing Leftist corruption? Or perhaps for sending mean tweets? Trump’s real “crime,” in their eyes, was challenging the status quo and exposing the Left’s deep-seated hypocrisy.
Meanwhile, the guy who actually needs a pardon—Hunter Biden—just got a golden ticket courtesy of Daddy Joe. Hunter’s crimes span the FBI’s Greatest Hits: tax evasion, illegal gun possession, shady international deals, and enough drug-fueled escapades to make Keith Richards blush.
But Trump? He’s been relentlessly investigated, only to emerge cleaner than vat in a bleach factory.
The Cuomo-Smith Argument: Theater, Not Logic
Mediaite breathlessly reported Cuomo and Smith’s shared epiphany: Biden should extend his pardon power to Trump to stop the political warfare and let the nation heal. Let’s pause to appreciate the irony here. These are the same folks who cheered every indictment, every raid, and every grand jury subpoena hurled at Trump. Now they want a kumbaya moment?
Cuomo earnestly stated, “I would pardon Trump. I would say, this has got to stop.” Smith chimed in, “Enough’s enough. You’re the Democrats, you lost the election…you could have prevented him from going back to the White House.”
The faux magnanimity here is laughable in that it’s just more Leftist charades. A trial balloon to see how many people would like the idea. Because Biden pardoning Trump would be less about healing and more about damage control. After all, the Left’s witch hunts have backfired spectacularly, boosting Trump’s popularity while exposing the Democrats’ desperation. If Biden issued such a pardon, it wouldn’t be out of grace but pure self-preservation.
Trump’s Likely Response? A Resounding “Let’s Go Brandon!”
If Biden were foolish enough to offer Trump a pardon, Trump’s response would likely be unprintable but unmistakable: “I don’t need it.”
Here’s why: Trump will win every single case against him. The charges are either fabricated, absurdly overreaching, or politically motivated. His legal team knows it, the American people know it, and even the Democrats know it. A pardon would imply guilt, and Trump doesn’t play that game. Accepting a pardon for crimes he didn’t commit would be an insult to his brand and his base.
Let’s also not ignore the optics. A pardon from Biden would look like a mob boss throwing scraps to an innocent man he framed. The theater would be unbearable—CNN analysts weeping, Rachel Maddow calling it “a brave moment,” and Stephen Colbert tap-dancing around the hypocrisy.
A Pardon for Biden Instead?
If anyone needs a pardon, it’s Joe Biden. The evidence against him is mounting, and his “aw shucks” Grandpa Joe routine won’t save him from the growing pile of receipts. From the Biden family’s shady dealings with foreign entities to the weaponization of federal agencies against political enemies, Biden has enough skeletons in his closet to start his own Halloween store.
But Biden’s arrogance might be his undoing. If Trump were truly vindictive, he could turn the DOJ loose on Biden the moment he’s re-elected. And while many would label it retribution, it’s more about restoring justice and proving that no one—not even a sitting president—is above the law.
Cuomo and Smith: Masters of Missing the Point
The real takeaway from Cuomo and Smith’s suggestion is this: they know the Left is losing. They know the Biden narrative is crumbling, and they’re scrambling to soften the blow. Their call for a pardon isn’t about mercy; it’s about salvaging what’s left of their credibility.
They’re like gamblers doubling down after a losing streak. Anybody who gambles knows that you don’t chase a losing streak. You just cash in what’s left of your chips and go home. If you’re lucky, you can return to fight another day. But never forget, the house always wins. And in this case, the house is the truth.
The Hypocrisy Olympics
Let’s not ignore the glaring hypocrisy here. Cuomo and Smith championed Biden’s pardon of Hunter, a move so brazen it made Bill Clinton’s last-minute clemency spree look tame. Hunter’s crimes are real, documented, and indefensible. Yet the Left defended him with the fervor of a mother bear protecting her only surviving cub.
Now they want to extend the same olive branch to Trump, who’s guilty of…nothing? It’s like Hitler giving out Nobel Peace Prizes.
Why This Idea Will Backfire
If Biden pardoned Trump, it would be a tacit admission that the entire legal charade against him was a farce. It would validate everything Trump has said about the system being rigged and the witch hunt against him. The MAGA base would see it as a victory, while the Left would implode with rage.
And let’s not forget the optics for Biden himself. Pardoning Trump while your son enjoys the benefits of a blanket pardon would make Joe look less like a statesman and more like a desperate man clinging to power.
Cuomo and Smith’s idea is just another desperate attempt to control a narrative spiraling out of the Left’s hands. A Biden pardon for Trump would be the ultimate act of political theater, a hollow gesture designed to distract from the real scandals.
Trump doesn’t need Biden’s pardon. If anything, Biden might need Trump’s mercy. Or at least he may soon.
