Republicans Midterm Prospects are EXCELLENT

Mar 14, 2025

Because of Trump’s resurgence and DOGE, Republicans find themselves in the driver’s seat. An opportunity exists to replace three Senators, specifically Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN) Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH). Two of these seats are considered up for grabs. Add to these North Carolina and Georgia, and you get some potentially wild numbers for Republicans. This is occurring and the bad news coming for Democrats hasn’t even surfaced yet. Currently the Senate has 53 Republicans, 45 Democrats, and 2 independents.

https://www.270towin.com/2026-senate-election-predictions/ The U.S. Senate has 53 Republicans and 47 Democrats (including two independents). There are 35 seats up in 2026 – including special elections in Florida and Ohio – of which 23 are held Republicans. Democrats will need a net gain of four seats to retake control in 2027. While this would be considered a bad year as many more Republicans will run for Senate this cycle than Democrats, I feel confident in the Republican’s positions. As indicated, 3 Democrats are leaving, thus Democrats lose their incumbents.
