The following article, Angels with Claws: Trump’s Secret Vetting Squad, was first published on The Black Sphere.
President Donald Trump has always had a knack for stirring the pot, but in his latest administration, he’s got a secret weapon—or rather, a not-so-secret guardian angel—watching his back.
Enter Laura Loomer, the firebrand conservative journalist turned unofficial vetter-in-chief, who’s making sure the days of Omarosa and Scaramucci-like blunders are as dead as a MAGA hat at a Biden rally. With patriots like Loomer on his side, Trump is cleaning house, and the snakes slithering in with the furniture movers don’t stand a chance. This is the story of how one woman is singlehandedly ensuring that the new and improved Trump administration is a fortress of loyalty—and maybe adding a dash of chaos for good measure.
Just over 100 days in, and President Trump committed to Make America Great Again, again. But as any gardener knows, you can’t plant a new crop without pulling out the weeds and killing snakes. Unfortunately, some of those snakes came with fake résumés and other not so bona fides, as with Mike Walz and Alex Wong Neither of these two hires should have made it past a look-see. Thanks to Laura Loomer’s razor-sharp instincts, they didn’t last long enough to unpack their White House welcome packets.
The drama unfolded faster than a reality TV finale. Today, a tweet from Kelly Ankwicz (@Rbelkell) broke the news:
“Jennifer Griffith Credits Laura Loomer with help in Mike Waltz Exit,” accompanied by a photo that’s worth a thousand words (or at least a few firings). You can see the tweet for yourself here:

Mike Walz, tapped as National Security Adviser, and Alex Wong, his deputy, thought they’d secured their spots in the Trump orbit. But they didn’t count on Loomer, who sniffed out their disloyalty like a bloodhound at a barbecue. According to Axios, Walz rubbed key players the wrong way, including Vice President J.D. Vance and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Conservative Brief editor Martin Walsh summed it up on X: “When you stack everything on Waltz, he just couldn’t survive. Laura Loomer gets a confirmed kill.” That’s right—Loomer didn’t just point out the problem; she took it out with the precision of a sniper at a turkey shoot.
The fallout was swift. The Daily Caller reported that the Trump administration had dismissed both Walz and Wong after Loomer’s allegations of disloyalty.
Next, Breitbart doubled down, with a piece titled “Laura Loomer Exposes ‘Deep State Holdovers’ Mike Walz and Alex Wong Before Their Removal,” detailing how Loomer’s digging unearthed their questionable ties.
Finally, The Federalist weighed in, noting that Trump was “cleaning house” over loyalty concerns.
Recall that Alex Wong, the Deputy National Security Adviser, was the genius who added Jeffrey Goldberg—yes, the Atlantic editor known for his anti-Trump hit pieces—to a Signal chat meant for Trump’s inner circle. Was it a mistake, or something more sinister? Loomer’s investigation suggests the latter, and her findings validated them.
Loomer laid out the dirt in a scathing post on X:
According to Loomer, Wong is married to Candice Chiu Wong, a U.S. Attorney who played a key role in prosecuting January 6 defendants. Candice worked under both the Obama and Biden administrations, leading the Violence Reduction and Trafficking Offenses Section for over two years. She even served as a law clerk for Obama-appointed Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Oh, and she was nominated to the United States Sentencing Commission under Biden. Sounds like a real America First champion, right? Wrong.
Sacred Bovine, but how many more “blue flags” do you need to know this person is a Leftist plant? You can’t be married to a woman like this without getting “Paul Ryaned”. But it gets worse.
Alex Wong himself worked for Covington & Burling. Recall that’s the law firm that the president recently stripped of its security clearance and government contracts via an Executive Order on February 25, 2025. It removing their clearances, the Trump administration accused them of aiding the “weaponization of government.”
Given all that we know about the CCP and the Biden family’s grift, Wong’s Chinese heritage and his wife’s ties to the Obama-Biden legal machine caused Loomer to raise a chilling question: Was Goldberg’s addition to the Signal chat a deliberate move to embarrass Trump, possibly as part of a foreign operation tied to China? It’s the kind of conspiracy that sounds wild—until you realize this is the Trump administration, where the wild is just another Tuesday.
Loomer’s crusade didn’t stop at speculation. She brought receipts, and Trump listened.
Walz and Wong were out the door faster than you can say “deep state,” and the conservative media sphere erupted in applause. Fox News captured the moment in a broadcast, with the headline “Sources: Waltz Out as National Security Adviser” flashing across the screen. The image of the broadcast, with its dramatic “Fox News Alert” banner, looked like something straight out of a political thriller—but this was real life, and Loomer was the star.
This isn’t just a one-off victory for Loomer; it’s a sign of things to come. With her on the case, the Trump administration is shaping up to be a no-nonsense operation, free of the Omarosas and Scaramuccis who plagued Trump’s first term with their drama and disloyalty. Loomer’s vetting skills are sharper than a bald eagle’s talons, and she’s not afraid to use them. She’s the guardian angel Trump didn’t know he needed—a patriot who’s part pitbull, part polygraph, and all heart.
