The following article, Democrat Tactical Blindness on Tariffs and Everything Else, was first published on The Black Sphere.

The Sound of Silence (When the Victims Are the Wrong Color)

Picture this: A group of white folks stroll out of a jazz concert in Cincinnati, humming the dulcet tones of Miles Davis, when suddenly—bam!—they’re jumped by a pack of Black assailants. The victims? Bruised. The assailants? Unprosecuted. The media? Crickets.

Now, imagine if the races were reversed. CNN would’ve spontaneously combusted into a 24/7 Hate Crime™ marathon, MSNBC’s Joy Reid would’ve blamed “white supremacy’s lingering miasma,” and Biden would’ve delivered a solemn address from the Oval Office, flanked by grieving families and a teleprompter running on fumes.

But because the victims were white and the attackers Black, the incident was quietly filed under Things That Don’t Fit the Narrative. And if you think this is an isolated case, you’ve clearly been too busy doomscrolling through The Washington Post’s latest “Why Everything Is Trump’s Fault” op-ed.

This isn’t just anecdotal whining—it’s part of a pattern. From the Knoxville Horror (where a white couple was tortured and murdered by Black assailants to the tune of media indifference) to the Chicago Beatdowns (where mobs of Black youths targeted white victims with near-zero consequences), the Left’s selective outrage isn’t just hypocrisy—it’s policy.

The Left’s Gun Logic: More Laws, Fewer Facts

Now, let’s pivot to guns—because nothing unites Democrats like a good old-fashioned non sequitur.

In Michigan, a hero with a legally owned firearm stopped a man who had stabbed 11 victims. Hopefully you see the Leftism here. The antagonist in this melodrama used a knife in this “mass attack”, while the protagonist used a legal gun to stop him. How many lives did this gun save? We will never know.

Meanwhile n New York, a criminal with an illegal firearm committed mass murder—and NYC’s Ritchie Torres, a man whose grasp of logic is rivaled only by a Magic 8-Ball, told CNN that the solution to criminals ignoring gun laws is—wait for it—more gun laws. It’s like responding to a burglary by passing a law demanding burglars please wear gloves next time.

It gets better.

CNN’s Erin Burnett described the shooter as “possibly white”—because when facts conflict with the narrative, just blur the edges until reality complies.

Tariffs: The Economic Boogeyman That Wasn’t

Now, onto the real fun: economics, and how Leftist logic applies here.

Howard Lutnick and President Trump negotiated the best trade deal ever with the EU. This deal will literally bring billions in revenue to the US.

The deal add $600B in trade from the EU, which will generate $90B in tariffs. Another $750B in energy sales will occur, spurring America’s energy industry. The deal  was so successful that even KPMG economists and The Wall Street Journal had to admit: “Huh. Maybe tariffs aren’t the economic apocalypse we predicted.”

The by-product of President Trump’s tariffs have led to peace between the DRC and Congo, as well as the recent announcement of an immediate and unconditional ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand. Believe it or not, Trump’s tariffs didn’t just boost the economy—they ended wars.

Meanwhile, Chuck Schumer, a man whose economic insights peak at “tax the rich until they flee to NY,” whined that tariffs would “cost Americans $90B.” Because nothing says “economic illiteracy” like flipping $90B in revenue into “taxes the poor” to push a talking point.

Even Bill Maher—a man who once compared Trump voters to “cult members”—admitted on air that Americans weren’t suffering from tariffs.

The Expert Fallacy: When Education Obscures Reality

I debated with a friend, a Ph.D. economist about tariffs, as he was livid about President Trump’s tariff policies. He complained that he had lost millions on Trump’s stupidity. I said he would eat his words in 60 days and that his money would be back in his brokerage account, and include a “Trump bonus”.

He reminded me of his education in Finance and Economics, and we left it at that.

Sixty days passed, and he called me; reluctantly I suspect. On the call he explained to me that he possibly was ‘too educated’ in economics to see what Trump accomplished, and indeed his brokerage account was again fat. His education obscured what my uneducated eyes could see, as he awkwardly explained to me.

Ah, the sweet sound of intellectual humility—or, in academic terms, “I spent six figures on a degree that taught me how to be wrong with confidence.”

This isn’t just about tariffs—it’s about the Left’s pathological inability to admit when reality contradicts theory. Whether it’s crime, guns, or economics, their dogma is a fortress impervious to facts.

The Left’s Vision Problem

Democrats don’t see facts—they see narratives.

  • Black-on-white violence? Crickets.

  • A Black hero with a gun? Inconvenient.

  • Tariffs boosting the economy and ending wars? “But Orange Man Bad!”

The sooner we acknowledge that their ideology is a choose-your-own-adventure book where the pages are already torn out, the sooner we can stop pretending they argue in good faith.

And if that sounds cynical? Good. Cynicism is just realism with better timing.
