The following article, Leftist Survey Condemns Democrats on Woke, was first published on The Black Sphere.
Remember that event, perhaps a Super Bowl party, where you’re just trying to enjoy some chips and guaco, then suddenly some Leftist explains how your use of the word “delicious” is problematic.
You learn from “Karen”, that the word “delicious” reinforces a hierarchy of taste that oppresses people who enjoy bland food. You wonder if you’ve accidentally wandered into a satirical sketch show.
Woke isn’t a political disagreement anymore; it’s a mass psychological episode, a national case of the vapors, a mind-screw of epic proportions. And the best part? The very people who unleashed this virus are now holding up their own lab reports, screaming, “Oh my God, we’re infected!”
The Report
A stunning new internal report, a nine-month, 21-state research project funded by the Democrat-aligned group Democracy Matters, has come to a conclusion so obvious it’s like paying a scientist to confirm that water is, in fact, wet.
The findings, published by POLITICO, reveal that working-class voters—you know, the people who actually build things, grow things, and fix things—see the Democratic Party as “woke, weak and out-of-touch.”
Six in ten have a negative view of the party. They can’t name what Democrats stand for other than a frothing, all-consuming hatred for Donald Trump.
This isn’t just a bad poll; it’s a political autopsy performed on a patient that’s still twitching on the table, and the cause of death is listed as “Acute Terminal Wokeness.”
The report also revealed that these voters see the GOP as the party of “safety and strength.” Why? Because when your house is flooding, you don’t call a plumber who wants to first discuss the fluid gender identity of water. You want someone who will show up with a wrench and a plan, not pronouns and a grievance.
How did we get here? How did the party of JFK’s “Ask not what your country can do for you” devolve into the party of “Ask what your country must deconstruct for you”?
It’s a story of ideological capture. The Democrats weren’t always this way. They used to understand the gritty, sweaty reality of the American worker. But sometime in the last decade, they were possessed by a new spirit, one that finds more moral outrage in a misplaced microaggression than at a Chihuahua convention.
They abandoned the economic anxiety of the working class for the performative anxiety of the professional activist. The conservative worldview has always held that a nation’s strength is derived from its people’s character, self-reliance, and shared cultural values. The left swapped that out for a flimsy substitute: a nation’s virtue, they decided, is measured by its commitment to an ever-shifting set of esoteric grievances.
The “woke” project was sold as a form of hyper-awareness, a moral awakening. But in reality, it’s a form of profound societal narcissism. It encourages people to stare at their own emotional navels so intently that they lose all sight of the world crumbling around them. It’s a philosophy built on a foundation of finding offense, because if you can be perpetually offended, you can be perpetually morally superior without having to actually do anything difficult; like balance a budget or create a job.
The American working class, the backbone of this nation, looks at this and doesn’t see strength or compassion. They see weakness. They see people who are so fragile, so emotionally incontinent, that they need a “safe space” from a dissenting opinion.
The report’s authors, like Mitch Landrieu, act like they’ve just discovered fire.
“They feel forgotten, left out, and that their issues are not prioritized,” he declared, as if this is a shocking revelation.
They didn’t just forget us; they actively mocked us! They called us “deplorables,” and sneered at their faith. They dismissed their love of country as jingoism, and told us our jobs in coal, oil, and manufacturing were “not the future.”
Next, Landrieu explains how Leftists then pivoted to arguing about whether a man can get pregnant.
Leftists are arsonists looking at the ashes of their own houses. They gawk with genuine confusion, while holding a gas can and a flame-thrower. Then they ask, “Gee, I wonder how this could have happened?”
The data is undeniable. The Democrats’ electoral challenges in 2024 weren’t a fluke; they were a direct result of this self-inflicted brand erosion.
The party became so focused on placating the loudest, most insufferable voices on Twitter that it forgot about the silent majority at the hardware store, on the construction site, and on the factory floor. These are people concerned with economic stress—the price of groceries, the cost of gas, the stability of their paycheck. They are engaged in the brutal, beautiful struggle of providing for a family. They don’t have the time or the energy to parse the difference between Latinx and Latine. To them, that’s not politics; that’s the privileged pastime of people with too much time on their hands.
And so, we arrive at the central hypocrisy.
The internal solution proposed by these center-left groups is to “side-step social issues and prioritize economic concerns.” Let’s just pause and savor that.
The Democratic Party, which has tied its entire identity to a relentless, all-consuming crusade on the social front, is now being told by its own strategists to shut up about it. It’s like a shark being told to side-step swimming.
The woke tail is now wagging the Democratic dog so violently that the dog is just a blur of fur and confusion. Their base, their donors, and their entire media ecosystem are addicted to the dopamine hit of moral preening. To abandon the culture war now would be to admit the entire last ten years were a catastrophic, nation-altering mistake.
So, they are trapped. The report admits that even as it calls for a “proactive policy agenda,” it has no idea what that agenda might be.
They can’t go back to being the party of the working man because they’ve spent years insulting his intelligence, his values, and his way of life. And they can’t move forward with their current agenda because even their own research confirms it’s electoral poison. They are a ship that set sail for a fantasy island called “Utopia” and has now run aground on the rocky shores of reality, with the captain and crew still arguing about the gender of the iceberg.
The mind-screw is finally being exposed, not by Fox News, not by conservative talk radio, but by the Democrats’ own paid-for, focus-grouped, data-driven confession. The American people, particularly the salt-of-the-earth working-class voters who make this country run, are demanding a return to sanity, to strength, to common sense. They are rejecting a philosophy that values feelings over facts, deconstruction over production, and victimhood over victory. The woke revolution is over. The verdict is in. The patients have diagnosed the doctors as insane, and they’re checking themselves out of the asylum.
