I don’t want to download your app to park my car.

I don’t want to create an account to look at a hamburger.

I don’t want to scan a QR code just to discover you’ve raised the price of chicken tenders to twenty-three dollars.

And I definitely don’t want to “rate my experience” after somebody handed me a receipt.

Five stars? You rang up my order. You’re not a Navy SEAL.

We’ve reached the point where every company wants a relationship. No…I don’t want a relationship with my gas station. I don’t want my coffee shop sending me birthday wishes. I don’t want my grocery store asking if I want notifications.

No! I just wanted bananas.

Everything today requires an app, a password, a facial scan, two-factor authentication, and permission to monitor my location until the sun burns out.

And here’s the question…

With all this technology watching us…shouldn’t life actually be getting better?

Think about it.

They know where we drive.

They know what we buy.

They know what we watch.

They know what we search.

They know what our heart rate is while we sleep.

Yet somehow…

Government still can’t figure out who’s stealing billions of taxpayer dollars.

Amazing.

The IRS can find a waitress who forgot to report a $42 tip from 2017, but somehow federal agencies lose hundreds of billions like they’re looking for loose change in the couch cushions.

Crime? Still rampant.

Waste? Everywhere.
