Trump is back!

Much to the chagrin of Democrats, establishment Republicans, and the bureaucratic elite. after two impeachments, a stunning loss in 2020, and judicial prosecutorial lawfare that threatened to bring down the financial empire he spent a lifetime building, Trump is back, after surviving TWO assassination attempts.

This long march through purgatory into a second term tested his mettle in ways that would have humbled most into submission. Trump is more tempered than compared to his more raucous demeanor in 2016. It broadly shows in the new incoming Cabinet he selected as compared to his previous one. His new Cabinet is ideologically and culturally diverse. Conservatives. Liberals. Moderates. They’ve all been selected based on the success of the base of their merits, and not on a DEI scale.

Unlike 2016, this time Trump won with landslide victories in both the electoral and popular vote. Likewise, in 2016 where Trump was treated as a political-professional pariah, this time around- major figures of all stripes are lining up to get into Trump’s good graces.

The Wall Street Journal opines:

I can’t think of a more powerful illustration of the contrast between the circumstances in which Mr. Trump takes office a month from now and how he arrived eight years ago—a contrast that equates to an extraordinary opportunity at home and abroad that awaits the new president and the country.
Just as his domestic critics have gotten in line, so the world has saluted—more or less reluctantly—his restoration.
Not since George W. Bush was re-elected in 2004 has America been led by a Republican on top of such a world of possibility. Given that we were still in the depths of the Iraq war then and a sizable number of Democrats still questioned Mr. Bush’s legitimacy, this may be the first time since the 1980s we have had a GOP president with the standing, the authority and the legislative and executive resources to reshape politics in the U.S. and abroad.

The Left Doesn’t Get the Memo

On November 5, 2024 the country spoke, loudly. Yet grassroots of the liberal base plan to block all of the reforms the incoming Administration intend to implement.

King Gavin of California claims he is seeking to “trump-proof” the once “golden state” in a special session of the State’s Legislature.

San Francisco Chronicle explains:

Essentially, Newsom is hoping to get some bills signed before Trump takes office on Jan. 20. His main priority is supplying state Attorney General Rob Bonta with a war chest of money that he can tap into in case California wants to sue the Trump administration, something the state did 122 times during Trump’s first term. For example, one of those lawsuits prevented the 2020 census from including a question about a person’s immigration status.
Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel, a Democrat from Encino, has already introduced two bills that would allocate money to the California Department of Justice. The first would set aside as much as $25 million in funding for Bonta’s office to cover costs associated with filing lawsuits. The second would immediately send $500,000 to Bonta’s office to pay for initial case preparation.
The Dec. 2 statement indicates that the governor plans to sign both bills before Trump takes office.
But financially bolstering the state’s Department of Justice is just one move the Legislature hopes to achieve as the Golden State braces for another four years of Trump. Democrats in both chambers are already signaling plans to shore up abortion protections, shield immigrants from deportation and continue progress on combating climate change.

But California is not the only state failing to listening to will of the American people. Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan, quoted the obvious:

As governor of the great state of Michigan, my job remains the same no matter who is in the White House.

Wes Moore vowed to “protect Maryland interests” from the incoming Trump regime. In New York, Kathy Hochul and Letitia James announced their plans to “resist Trump”. In Illinois, JD Pritzker warned Trump that if he tries coming after any of his people, “you gotta first come through me!”

(Ohhh, tough talk big tough guy!)

Lastly, ‘feminist’ Minnesota Governor (and Army deserter) Tim Walz boasted that he too would oppose the Trump agenda.

These blue-state governors are all using the same talking points. They are “fighting for ‘the people’”. They are “defending ‘the country’”. They are “opposing the ‘Trump agenda’”. However, in the 2024 Election, Trump either carried or performed well a majority of the deep blue states.

Fox News observed:

President-elect Trump flipped six highly competitive states in his election victory last week — but his gains with voters were not limited to the battlegrounds.
Trump improved his vote share across the country, starting with conservative areas but extending into deeply Democratic states.
Trump gained in all seven of the battleground states. He gained 1.8 points in Michigan and Pennsylvania, 1.4 points in Georgia, just over a point in North Carolina, and under a point in Wisconsin.
But Trump’s best performances relative to 2020 were in reliably Democratic states. These states voted for Democrats, but by narrower margins than before.
His strongest improvement was in New York, where the former and future president gained 6.4 points.
He also posted a 5-point improvement in neighboring New Jersey, enough to reduce the margin of his loss to just 5.5 points. That is the best performance for a Republican candidate in more than three decades.
Look for New Jersey and Virginia (Trump +2.4 since 2020) to become a focal point in future elections, beginning with next year’s gubernatorial races.
Trump also took more vote share in Illinois (Trump +4.2 since 2020), another Democratic state with a highly populated urban area.
And as some pre-election polls predicted, the president-elect brought home another 5 points’ worth of votes in Florida, where Democrats fought hard for a victory just two cycles ago.

So which side do the people truly stand with?

At First You Don’t Succeed, Change the Rules (AGAIN!)

True to Democrat form, when the Left cannot win fair-and-square by playing within the rules, they must resort to cheating to win. However, when even that fails, the next step is to change the rules. Which is what the Democrats are looking to do, yet again.

The Hill reports:

Three Democratic senators unveiled a constitutional amendment to abolish the Electoral College system Monday, just more than a month after President-elect Trump stunned the Democrats by sweeping all seven battleground states, knocking off three Senate Democratic incumbents in the process.
The senators are troubled that the Electoral College has twice elected a candidate who didn’t win the popular vote in the past 19 years. In both those instances, a Republican captured the White House — George W. Bush in the 2000 election and Trump in the 2016 election.
To be sure, Trump would have still won the 2024 election if it had been decided by popular vote.

Democrats forget that there is one ‘little’ problem: The 12th Amendment!

This was still the early period of the founding of America. Just as the Founders had not trusted the politicians or the government, they did not entirely trust WE THE PEOPLE either! There had been uprising (direct and indirect) that could have negatively impacted the fledgling American society:

As with the checks-and-balances of the government, a ‘check’ was going to be needed on the power of the people as well:

      • Article II. Section 1. Clauses 2-3:
“The Votes shall be taken by States, the Representation from each State having one Vote.
      • Article IV. Section 4:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.”
      • Article VI. Clause 2 (Supremacy Clause):
This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land.
      • 10th Amendment:
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
      • 12th Amendment:
“The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President…”

While the Electoral College is safe, both politically and constitutionally, for the moment. There have been over 700 attempts to eliminate the Electoral College, the closest attempt came in 1969. With Democrats committing open lawfare against President Trump and Republicans, and have been working to alter the internal procedures of the judicial system; to include expanding the number of justices that sit on the Supreme Court. Which falls on We the People to always watch the government closely. For “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.”

Biden’s Midnight Judges

Akin to the appointment of Federalist judges by President John Adams in resistance to his loss to Thomas Jefferson after losing the chaotic 1800 election. With the aid of a Federalist Congress, Adams created multiple judicial vacancies, and then quickly filled the new positions with Federalist judges.

Signing their appointments late into the night of his last day in office. The judges were called “midnight judges” because of the timing of the appointments occurred on the last day in office. Adams’s political opponents argued that he appointed these judges to fill the federal judiciary with partisan cronies. This led to the famous Supreme Court case of Marbury v. Madison.

History appears to be repeating itself as President Biden is appointing Democrat judges in his final days in the lame duck 2024 session while the Democrats still control of the Senate.

UK Guardian writes:

Speaking to Politico, Schumer said the approach was based on the example set by the Republicans themselves, starting in the presidency of George W Bush, when the GOP began focusing on packing courts with conservative judges.
Trump appointed three rightwing justices to the US supreme court during his first administration, giving the court a 6-3 conservative majority that has resulted in – among other things – the overturning of the nationwide right to an abortion.
Learning from these experiences, Schumer said, Biden had prepared the ground to enable Democrats to use the courts for political ends by appointing 235 judges during his single-term presidency – surpassing the 234 appointed by Trump in his first term.
Schumer said he and Biden had hatched a plan four years ago not only to prioritise legislation but to focus on appointing as many judges as possible.
He said he had had to work to persuade fellow senators of the merits of some appointees, while also arguing that confirming them was worthy of Senate floor time.
Confirming Biden-nominated judges acquired an added urgency after Trump’s win over Kamala Harris in last month’s presidential election, prompting the White House to urge senators to rush to confirm up to 30 nominees before the current legislative session ended, to prevent the vacancies being filled by Trump’s picks.

Trump 2.0 now has two years to produce before the 2026 midterms, otherwise face the consequences of inaction.
